Local Affiliated Agencies

The Jewish community of the greater Palm Beaches offers many of its services at two distinct locations: the Jeanne Levy Jewish Community Campus in West Palm Beach and the Alex and Esther Gruber Jewish Community Campus in Boynton Beach. Both campuses features a wide array of programs and services to meet the spiritual, recreational, health and day care needs of our growing Jewish population.

The Jewish Community Center (JCC) of the Greater Palm Beaches provides, promotes and develops Jewish traditions, culture and identity. The JCC deepens the understanding of Israel and its meaning for the Jewish people by sponsoring recreational, educational and cultural activities for all age groups. Services range from providing childcare to serving meals and social programs to senior adults. The JCC provides the Leonard and Sophie Davis Camp Shalom in West Palm Beach and the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt Camp Shalom in Boynton Beach that offer a Jewish summer camp experience for nearly 1,000 children ages 5 through 16. Other programs include preschool, afterschool care, activities for single adults of all ages, special needs programming, parenting education, holiday celebrations, health and physical activities and cultural events.

Ferd & Gladys Alpert Jewish Family & Children’s Service (AJFCS) is a nationally accredited, nonsectarian social service agency serving Palm Beach County. Through more than two dozen programs and services, AJFCS strengthens individuals of all ages, their families, and their community, and works to fulfill the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world), one person at a time.

Among the many services the agency provides are information and referral; counseling and support groups; geriatric and child psychiatry; guardianship; case management and companions for the elderly; a domestic abuse program; children’s services; a mentoring program, and residential services for adults with special needs. The agency’s mission incorporates specialized services for the Jewish population, including a project that addresses the unique needs of Holocaust survivors. The Arthur I. Meyer Jewish Academy serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools, it offers a quality dual program in Jewish and general studies, including math, social studies, language arts, computer studies, art and music. Students are immersed in Hebrew studies starting in kindergarten and become proficient in reading, speaking and writing the language. The academy provides its students with the knowledge and skills they will need to become the leaders of tomorrow. Graduates have been accepted to the country's finest universities. The 7.5-acre campus includes science labs, computer facilities, a media center and an art studio. Hot kosher lunches are served daily.

The Commission for Jewish Education, established in September 1990 as the central agency for Jewish education in the greater Palm Beaches, serves synagogues, schools, agencies, organizations and individuals requiring high-quality Jewish educational experiences. Programs and services include: professional development education, including workshops, seminars and conferences for teachers and principals of preschoolers through adult education; degree and certification programs; consultation services; special needs education and weekly special needs Hebrew school; P.J. Library of the Greater Palm Beaches and Jewish family education programs; Judaica Institute weekly community-wide Hebrew high school and Teen Tzedakah Project philanthropy program; and formal adult Jewish education.

MorseLife, on the 37-acre Marilyn & Stanley M. Katz Seniors Campus, is Palm Beach County’s premier senior living and healthcare community. Combining the high caliber long-term care of the Joseph L. Morse Geriatric Center, short term rehabilitation at the Lee & David Levine Rehabilitation Center, the community and home-based programs and services of the Lola & Saul Kramer Senior Services Agency and the 144 independent and assisted living residences of The Tradition of the Palm Beaches, MorseLife provides a seamless and efficient transition of care for seniors throughout our community.

The 280-bed Morse Geriatric Center now includes the Lee & David Levine Rehabilitation Center located on the first floor of the Resnick Pavilion. Rehabilitative care is provided for seniors following a hospitalization or acute incident, and operates under the direction of a full-time medical director who is a Board Certified, Fellowship-trained geriatrician, a nurse practitioner and consulting physiatrist.

MorseLife is proud to include The Loring Institute for Geriatric Research & Education, which provides medical fellowship programs, research & demonstration projects and is analyzing trends in healthcare and new technologies which will enable MorseLife to prepare for the growing needs of an aging population. The Lola & Saul Kramer Senior Services Agency strives to delay or altogether eliminate the need for traditional institutionalized long-term care by providing a variety of community and home-based programs and services. Through the Kramer Agency, seniors can receive home health and adult day care services, Kosher Meals-on-Wheels and the Homebound Mitzvah Program for the High Holy Days and Passover. The Kramer Agency also provides community outreach and education programs, including the popular Lunch & Learn programs held monthly. The Tradition of the Palm Beaches opened in 2004. The Tradition offers 102 Independent and 42 Assisted Living rental residences in an environment that puts a premium on customer service and quality of life. Federation's fundraising efforts also aid Jews around the country, in Israel and throughout the world. The merger of three major Jewish philanthropic organizations within the United States (United Jewish Appeal, the Council of Jewish Federations and United Israel Appeal) created the Jewish Federations of North America, which works closely with the Federation system to fund and service Jewish needs at the national level, in Israel and in 65 other countries.
