    Foundation is now Planned Giving and Endowments

    The Foundation of the Jewish Federation on Palm Beach County has changed its name to Planned Giving and Endowments, which enables you to honor, memorialize or pay tribute to loved ones through a broad range of giving opportunities. You can leave a legacy that will support the programs and services that have been near and dear to your heart for years or find an area of interest you didn’t previously know about that will ignite your philanthropic passions.

    What is Tzedakah?

    Communities and individuals have limited budgets, and it is necessary to set priorities for allocating funds for tzedakah. Jewish legal and ethical writings provide guidelines for each aspect of a person's and a society's decisions in this regard: how much to give, and to whom, as well as who may be solicited for contributions and the extent to which the claims of those seeking assistance should be investigated.

    Your Annual Campaign gift provides the following:

    $8 pays for one Passover seder for a Florida college student.

    $45 provides a one-month food voucher for a family of three in Argentina to buy groceries.

    $60 gives one package of winter relief items for needy seniors in the former Soviet Union.

    $100 pays for one counseling session for one Palm Beach County senior suffering from depression.

    $120 pays for a five-month Hebrew program at an Israeli absorption center.

    $250 provides one month’s financial assistance for a Palm Beach County family in need.

    $365 provides one month of preschool for an Ethiopian-Israeli child.

    $700 pays for one month’s rent for a new immigrant in Israel.

    $1,000 pays for an eight-week Israel experience for a teenager.

    $2,500 will subsidizes tuition for a student attending our Jewish day school.

    $3,600 pays for a 10-week stay for an Israeli child at an emergency shelter.

    $5,000 pays for one year’s medication for 175 residents at a Jewish nursing home in Eastern Europe.
